RedVector is happy to announce two new courses: Lighting Controls Essentials and HVAC Refrigeration Essentials. The new Lighting Controls Essentials course is a two-hour, intermediate level course on lighting controls. This course is perfect for electrical engineers, facility engineers, facility managers and construction and trades professionals.
This interactive online course covers the “big picture” of lighting controls: what they are, how they look, what they do, how to apply them in construction projects, and how to find LEED credits.
By the end of this course, you will be able to recall the significance of an electrical light switch contact, select the proper lighting control in various room scenarios to improve the general health and safety of building occupants, describe how lighting control may be applied toward LEED points to increase the wellbeing of occupants and to save energy, explain why networking lighting controls across a building or multiple buildings benefits occupants and workers, describe how lighting controls may tailor light to a situation in order to reduce energy use and protect the environment, identify common Human Interface Devices that assist users in properly adjusting lighting brightness, and recognize the purpose of surge suppression devices to protect equipment from electric surges.
The new HVAC Refrigeration Essentials course is a two-hour, fundamental course, great for HVAC technicians and a host of other professions such as mechanical, facility and industrial engineers, and building design professionals.
Refrigeration is the process of transferring heat from one place to another. In this interactive online course, you will learn detailed information on heat and refrigeration principles, refrigeration system components, types of refrigerants, methods of installation, refrigeration system maintenance, and refrigeration system repairs.
At the end of this course, you will be able to understand the concepts of heat theory and principles of refrigeration, understand the different types of refrigeration system components and their operation, classify common refrigerants according to their application, learn the installation, operation, and maintenance requirements for HVAC refrigeration equipment and systems.
