Change in Requirements for Nebraska Engineers

Engineers licensed in Nebraska must have 30 hours of continuing education by December 31 biennially based on licensee’s last name.

Of the 30 hours, at least one hour must be in professional ethics. Last names beginning with the letters A-K are due by December 31 in odd years and L-Z are due by December 31 in even years.

The Nebraska Board of Engineers and Architects will now allow all hours to be taken in online coursework if the provider is an approved International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET) Accredited Provider.  RedVector.com, LLC is approved as an IACET Accredited Provider.

The courses offered by RedVector for this profession have been reviewed to meet technical requirements.  It is the licensee’s responsibility to verify that the course material meets their specific scope of practice and criteria required by the Board.

Previously, only 25% of CE could be taken from a non-IACET online provider. There was no ethics requirement for this license.

Note: The Nebraska rules and regulation state that the licensee cannot complete continuing education courses that enhances an engineer’s knowledge to run his/her business, increase profitability or guide him/her contractually to benefit the practice. We have removed those courses from the library.
