The following updated license renewal requirements apply for Louisiana Land Surveyors:
For licenses expiring in 2016, 2017 and 2018:
15 Professional Development Hours (PDH). (1 PDH = 1 contact hour) License renewal occurs on March 31 and September 30 biennially based upon the year of initial licensure.
Of the 15 PDH, at least:
– 1 PDH must be in professional ethics.
– 2 PDH must be in Standards of Practice for Boundary Surveys in Louisiana.
NOTE: Licenses expiring March 31 and September 30 in 2017 must complete an additional 8 PDHs by the end of 2017 for their renewal period ending in 2019. Same applies to licenses expiring March 31 and September 30 in 2018 for their renewal period ending in 2020.
For licenses expiring 2019 and thereafter:
License renewal will continue biennially by March 31 and September 30 based upon initial licensure. 8 PDH must be taken in the two calendar years prior to your renewal (1 PDH = 1 contact hour) (i.e. license renewal September 30, 2019 – 8 PDH taken in 2017, 15 PDH taken in 2018)
Of the 8 PDH, at least:
– 1 PDH must be in professional ethics
– 1 PDH must be in Standards of Practice for Boundary Surveys in Louisiana
